endocrine disruptors.

Dr. Sax led a series of workshops for teachers at the Ross School. He also met with girls, and with boys, in
grades 5 through 12, in eight separate sessions over two days, to discuss the
effects of popular culture on gender-specific issues: for example, Gossip Girl and Call of Duty:
Black Ops. He also gave an evening
presentation for parents about the challenges facing girls and boys in grades 5
through 12 today.
November 11, Wisconsin Dells, WI: Dr. Sax provided the keynote address at a
conference for juvenile justice professionals, hosted by the University of Wisconsin,
www.uwex.edu. The keynote was entitled “Gender differences
in the propensity to delinquent behavior.”
He also led breakout sessions specifically on the challenges facing
girls at risk, as well as boy-specific issues, from the perspective of what
juvenile justice professionals need to know.
November 12, St.
Louis, MO: Dr. Sax returned to the Imagine Academy of
Academic Success to lead a fifth day of professional development for teachers.

CA: Dr.
Sax led two days of workshops for teachers, hosted by the Presentation School. He also gave an evening presentation to

NJ: Dr. Sax gave an evening presentation to
parents about the challenges facing girls and boys in the era of texting,
Facebook, and Call of Duty.
November 24, Port Ewen, NY: Dr. Sax gave the keynote address for Ulster County
professionals who work with children and teenagers. He also led a breakout session on texting,
Facebook, and cyberbullying; and a second breakout
session on best practice for identification and intervention with children and
teenagers who are engaging in NSSI (non-suicidal self-injury).
November 29, Austin,
TX: Dr. Sax led a workshop for teachers at St.
Stephen’s School. He also gave two
presentations to parents: one about
“girls on the edge,” and the other about “boys adrift.”
